Start with the economics

Search platforms treat health as a sensitive category. Ads can be disapproved or limited for claims about treating conditions, for exaggerated promises, and for certain supplement and testing language. What the ad can say
The temptation in this field is to write ads about symptoms: tired, bloated, foggy, cannot lose weight. Those are exactly the words people type, and they are also exactly the words that platforms and regulators watch. A safer and usually more persuasive route is to describe how the practice works. Longer first appointments. A thorough history and a review of prior records. Testing discussed where a practitioner thinks it is appropriate. A written plan. Follow-up visits. Those are facts about the service, and they answer the question the searcher is really asking, which is whether this place will take them seriously.
Ads should name the credentials plainly, for example the type of licence the lead practitioner holds, and should avoid words that suggest certainty. Phrases about curing, reversing, healing, detoxing or fixing do not belong in the copy, in the sitelinks or on the landing page. Neither does language that implies conventional medicine is wrong. Many patients come to a functional and integrative practice alongside their existing doctors, and an honest ad says that the practice works with them, and that emergencies and acute problems need conventional care.
Finally, the ad should offer one gentle next step: a discovery call, an introductory consultation, a request for the new patient guide. The tone is closer to an invitation to a conversation than to a promotion.

Buy, shop, store, brand and kit queries come from consumers who want an item rather than a consultation.
Out of scope
Care you do not provide, such as emergencies, pediatrics or particular procedures, should be excluded so those searchers never see your ad.
Location and hours
Most conventional clinics draw from a short drive. Functional practices often pull from much further, because people hunting for a particular approach will cross a metropolitan area to find it, and some will cross a state. We target the towns and counties you want and then look at where inquiries actually come from, widening or narrowing based on the real pattern.
Telehealth adds a wrinkle. A clinician may only be licensed to see patients in certain states, and an ad that invites everyone to book an online visit can attract people the practice cannot legally serve. After the click
If the ad talks about a comprehensive first visit, the page walks through exactly what happens, who the practitioner is, what credentials they hold and what it costs or how to find out. A general home page rarely does this.
A discovery call or consultation request with only the fields you need. Do not ask for symptoms, diagnoses or medications in an ad landing form. Keep clinical detail for the secure intake that follows.
Separate phone numbers reveal which campaigns ring the front desk. Recording calls requires disclosures, and callers often mention health details, so we confirm how recordings are stored and who hears them before switching it on.
